Become a certified teacher in Delaware

To become a certified teacher in Delaware, there are several steps that you need to follow. The first step is to earn a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. You must also complete a teacher preparation program that is approved by the Delaware Department of Education. This program should include both coursework and field experience.

Once you have completed your teacher preparation program, you will need to pass the Praxis exams. These exams are designed to test your knowledge and skills in the subject area that you wish to teach. You will need to pass both the Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators (Core) and the Praxis Subject Assessments.

After passing the Praxis exams, you will need to apply for a Delaware teaching certificate. You can do this online through the Delaware Department of Education's website.
