Become a certified pharmacy technician in Puerto Rico
To become a certified pharmacy technician in Puerto Rico, PR, there are several steps that need to be followed. Firstly, an individual must have a high school diploma or equivalent. They must then complete a pharmacy technician training program that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). This program can be completed at a community college, vocational school, or online.
After completing the training program, the individual must pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) or the Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT). These exams are administered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), respectively. Passing either of these exams will result in certification as a pharmacy technician.
