Become a certified mediator in North Dakota

To become a certified mediator in North Dakota, there are several steps that need to be taken. First, an individual must complete a minimum of 40 hours of mediation training from an approved provider. This training should cover topics such as conflict resolution, communication skills, and negotiation techniques.

After completing the training, the individual must then submit an application to the North Dakota Supreme Court's Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Program. The application will require the individual to provide information about their education, work experience, and any relevant certifications or licenses they hold.

Once the application is approved, the individual must then complete a minimum of 20 hours of supervised mediation experience. This experience can be gained through volunteering with a community mediation program or by working with an experienced mediator.

After completing the supervised mediation experience, the individual must then pass a written exam and participate in a mock mediation session. If they pass both of these requirements, they will be certified as a mediator in North Dakota.
