Become a certified mechanic in Singapore
To become a certified mechanic in Singapore, one must first complete a relevant course of study. This can be done through a technical institute or a polytechnic, where one can obtain a diploma or degree in automotive engineering. Alternatively, one can also enroll in a private institution that offers courses in automotive repair and maintenance. After completing the course, one must then gain practical experience by working as an apprentice or trainee under a certified mechanic. This will provide hands-on experience and allow one to learn the skills necessary to become a competent mechanic. Once the required experience has been gained, one can then apply to become a certified mechanic through the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) system. This involves passing a series of tests and assessments to demonstrate one's knowledge and skills in automotive repair and maintenance. Upon successful completion, one will be awarded a certification that recognizes their expertise and competence as a mechanic.
