Become a certified dental assistant in Wyoming
To become a certified dental assistant in Wyoming, there are several steps that need to be followed. Firstly, an individual must complete a dental assisting program that is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). This program should include both classroom instruction and hands-on clinical experience. Once the program is completed, the individual must pass the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) exam. This exam consists of three components: general chairside assisting, infection control, and radiation health and safety. After passing the exam, the individual must apply for certification through the Wyoming Board of Dental Examiners. This application includes providing proof of completion of an accredited dental assisting program, proof of passing the DANB exam, and a fee. Once the application is approved, the individual will receive their certification as a dental assistant in Wyoming. It is important to note that certification must be renewed every two years and requires continuing education credits to be completed.
