Become a certified arborist in New Mexico

Firstly, it is important to note that becoming a certified arborist in New Mexico requires a combination of education, experience, and passing an exam. The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) is the organization responsible for certifying arborists in New Mexico.
To be eligible to take the ISA Certified Arborist exam, you must have at least three years of full-time experience in arboriculture or a related field, or a degree in arboriculture, horticulture, landscape architecture, or forestry. Additionally, you must have a thorough understanding of tree biology, pruning, diagnosis, and treatment of tree problems.
Once you meet the eligibility requirements, you can register for the ISA Certified Arborist exam. The exam consists of 200 multiple-choice questions and covers a wide range of topics related to arboriculture. To pass the exam, you must score at least 72% or higher.
After passing the exam, you will receive your ISA Certified Arborist credential, which is valid for three years. To maintain your certification, you must earn a certain number of continuing education units (CEUs) every three years.
